What is the Davos Process for Construction Culture? On the eve of the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos in 2018, the Swiss Federal Office of Culture formed an expert community with the signing of the "Davos Declaration", initiating the so-called "Davos Process for Construction Culture." Numerous esteemed international and national organizations have joined this community.In 2023, a second meeting was held with European ministers of culture, prominent non-governmental organizations, and private businesses dedicated to achieving high construction culture. An international initiative was established and later presented at the Venice Architecture Biennale.The term "construction culture" (in German: Baukultur) is used in the context of the discourse that began in Germany in the 1970s within the framework of architectural modernism critique post-World War II. This discourse continues today with discussions about the qualitative characteristics of specific human-made living environments representing regional or national identity.
